"Chinese and Japanese researchers claim that the extracts taken from a certain ant has painkilling and anti-inflammatory properties.
Polyrhachis lamellidens extracts have been used in Chinese folk medicine to treat rheumatoid arthritis, bacterial infections and hepatitis.

According to a study published in the Journal of Natural Products, polyrhacitides A and B extracted from these ants are responsible for the therapeutic effects. Polyrhachis lamellidens are a group of ants native to Japan and have a parasitic life."
